How to build a window hood for a Colorbond shed?

Building 3 window hoods for a colourbond clad shed. Using 35x70mm M3. What tec screw would hold the wooden frame against the colourbond?  Would countersink into the "stud" and use a washer.

I used wood from an old pallet and left over mini-corrugated iron.

Where you've circled with an 'X' - I used bolts as hinges - so I could play with the angle, to see what worked best.

The while thing is a frame that attaches to the outer dimensions of the window - and held with three long galvanised screws.

No problem finding the studs and noggins.

Not pretty - but it works.

Thanks for this.  Looks nice.  But Im after advice on attaching the H# into the colourbond.  Yours looks like its into weatherboard

Are there any structural members in those areas?

You'd need to attach through the Colorbond into the structural frame member behind it. Colorbond sheeting is too thin to be able to hold weight. Buildex Timber or Metal Batten Zip ZA3 Hex Head No Seal Screws in the correct length would be suitable for a timber and steel frame. If these window hoods were exceptionally light, you could attempt to use these screws into the Colorbond itself.
