We have a time delay light switch in our apartment. The one in first floor switch off so quickly we don’t even reach second floor. How to adjust this kind of switch to make it turn off later or make release the push button slow down?
Hi @ejo,
That’s likely a mechanical type time-delay push button switch with a preset shut-off time. If there was previously a longer delay, the unit might be faulty. Unfortunately, there’s no simple way to adjust how long the light stays on, and trying to do so yourself can be unsafe.
To change the timing or replace it with a unit that allows a longer delay, I recommend contacting a licensed electrician. They can either adjust the setup (if the model allows) or install a new switch with a built-in adjustable delay.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
