This abandoned coffee table got a new lease on life with a good sanding and fresh paint, stain and varnish.
I found a very unloved and slightly battered coffee table on the side of the road and decided to try to revive it. Husband decided it needed the "good stuff", so we went to Bunnings and spent 20 minutes deciding which sander would be best. In the end we chose two, both from the Ozito range.
Learning how to sand.
A little more sanding for all the bits I missed.
Primer and first coat on.
Second coat on.
Stain and poly on! After three days, lots of elbow grease and some trial and error, this is the finished product.
I have definitely caught the restoration bug and have another roadside find under way.
Price of discarded roadside coffee table: $0
Paint, primer, sandpaper and stain from Bunnings: $30
Husband's enjoyment at getting to buy a new sander: Priceless!
