Sanding back to the original colour and adding black leather handles modernised this coffee table.

The project

I found this beauty on Facebook Marketplace and thought it had so much potential.

I started by sanding the whole table to its original raw colour and discovered a beautiful timber underneath. To add a bit more of a modern and interesting look I painted the bottom part black. The final touch was adding these beautiful black leather and gold handles. To protect the top, I added a clear varnish.

Materials

  • 40 grit and 60 grit sandpaper

  • Lane black leather handle
