This makeover gives a tired 20-year-old dining setting a fresh, modern look.
This was an old, run-down hardwood table and eight chairs that needed a total makeover.
The top of the table was sanded back to raw wood, revealing the lovely, unusual wood grain. It was sealed with two coats of Timber Protect satin-finish clear varnish.
The rest of the table was sealed with two coats of Zinsser B-I-N primer-sealer and stain blocker to prevent bleed-through staining. It got three coats of Taubmans in Milk Cloud – just the prefect warm white – and then all sealed with two coats of the Timber Protect clear varnish.
Each chair was slightly sanded to remove any peeling varnish. They all got two coats of the primer-sealer followed by three coats of the paint and two of the varnish.
