Crushed stone makes a practical and low-maintenance solution for this side walkway area.
I wanted to share with you all a project we have been working on at home – the last in our backyard, that's for sure!
It involved a lot of rocks – not fun to shovel.
We levelled out the area first. We had some topsoil delivered and evened things out. We used about two cubic metres of soil in the area.
We added 20mm of crushed rock to add another layer, like a onion We hired a small compactor to even out and compact the rock.
The little succulent area was to fill a void in the area under the aircon. It has been thriving.
We had two metres of Tuscan topping delivered, spread it over the top and then hired the compactor again to finish it off
The shed in the photo is a special order from Bunnings as it's a different shape than what's on the shop floor. It's Monument colour, matching the rest of our house.
I'm super-happy that we're done as I can't shovel any more.
