This barn door partitions a living area to shield the afternoon sun and help the air conditioners run more efficiently.
I built a sliding barn door to shield our living room from the harsh afternoon sun, beaming in through western-facing windows. The door also closes off the living area from the front stairs and helps the air conditioners run more efficiently.
This project was completed using seven 89 x 19mm Pine lining boards and 140 x 19mm dressed Pine. The track kit is a Rolltrak barn door system.
I used a dressed Pine headboard to secure the door track to the studs in the wall as the pre-drilled holes in the track didn't line up with the studs.
Workshop member LePallet used Silver Top timber to build these eye-catching 2m-wide doors and found hanging the door tracks was not difficult.
