This easy and affordable room makeover uses timber moulding to create a shelf that holds picture frames.
The project
A little project I did with my daughter. She asked for a pink wall in her room so we went to Bunnings and she picked the colour Heartfelt by Taubmans.
I made a shelf for her framed artwork using timber moulding.
I used the Colonial timber moulding for the bottom piece against the wall as it has nice detail. I attached the Bullnose piece on top as the shelf with the back of it face up – the cut-out on the back of it works well for keeping picture frames in place.
I was going to prime and paint the shelf white but I ended up loving the raw timber look so we left it. My daughter gave it the thumbs up.
Before and after
More project inspiration
Jess also created a castle-shaped bookshelf for this bedroom. She used Pine boards to make the structure and attached to the wall with one angle bracket.
