Dulux Renovation Range paint used to revamp a kitchen island and cabinets.
As first home buyers, we are always excited to execute D.I.Y.s and give makeovers to our home as we want. Most of our kitchen area, including cabinets, slab and floor were in white tones. Though it looked good, it was not what we wanted.
Inspired by Bunnings and their Dulux paint collection, we finally agreed to repaint our cabinets and island grey and add some LED lights to it.
It took two people around three days and cost us approx $270 for the complete makeover, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you to Bunnings for your expert advice helping us choose the best colour for our D.I.Y. project.
Materials used in the project:
Tools used in the project:
We took out all the cabinets doors and their handles.
We applied masking tape behind the cabinet doors, on the wall corners and the floor to protect against unwanted paint.
We sanded all the cabinet doors and island to make them even and thoroughly cleaned the surface later.
Then we applied one layer of primer using roller brushes and left it for drying overnight.
Later we applied the first coat of Dulux renovation range for cabinet doors in Signature Grey and left it to dry for around 5 - 6 hours. The Bunnings expert advice we got to choose the Dulux renovation range for the cabinet doors certainly helped us.
After the first coat was dry, we did a bit of sanding to even out the paint, cleaned the doors and applied the second coat of paint, again leaving it to dry for around 5 or 6 hours. Choosing grey was a wise decision - this indeed has created a sleek and polished look.
Finally, we removed all the masking tape from the cabinets doors, cleaned them and fitted them back to the shelves. We also removed the rest of the tape from the wall corners and floor.
Workshop community member stelz also used the Dulux renovation range for her kitchen revamp using paint.
In this cosmetic kitchen makeover, community member Rufaro painted his cabinets and splashback.

I’ve been trying to find the cabinet pull from the white kitchen pictured above, do you know if bunnings stocks something similar to these cabinet pulls?
Hello @tristanb
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us.
The closest equivalent to the handle you are referring to is the Kaboodle 160mm Jerico Matt Black Handle. Please note that it is not an exact copy as it does not have the little flange at the bottom of the post. The handle will need to be specially ordered at the special orders desk. Please double check the number of handles you'll be needing before placing your order.
If you have any other questions we can help with, please let me know.
