A clever and cost-effective way to add storage and bench space to an outdoor entertaining area using garage storage cabinetry.
The project
We saw these great workshop cabinets and benches in Bunnings and had the idea to use them to create an outdoor kitchen. We originally toyed with the idea of getting cabinets built-in but decided it was too costly, and the exposure to weather conditions would have been an issue.
I bought a sink and tap, and cut out the timber top and metal cabinet for the sink with a jigsaw. I got a plumber to connect the waste and hot and cold water.
The result is great. We have places to store all that we need for an outdoor kitchen and the space is in frequent use.
