Restoring this 33-year-old cubby house kept it in the family for another generation to enjoy.
This is my wife's cubby house from when she was a kid. The roof and floor had completely rotted. With a sheet of Yellow Tongue particle board, some Merbau timber and Colorbond sheets, and after a lot of sanding and four coats of paint, I managed to keep this cubby in the family and save a lot of money. This project was extra fun because my wife helped paint and decorate.

Decided to freshen up the inside of the cubby which completely brightened up the space. Ceder timber primer for the walls was a must (I learnt the hard way) and some left over garage floor paint and flecks for the floor. I also added an extra shelf on the side so the kids weren't fighting over the kitchen all the time.
Lovely work @Jimi! Now the inside looks just as nice as the outside. I trust the kids are thrilled with your effort to turn the interior into a beautiful place space.
Many thanks for the update.

So good @Jimi - even flecks on the floor. So special that it was your wife's! Many more fun memories are now to be had in here for maybe even another 30+ years.
Thanks @birdie , flecks were left over from when I painted the garage floor!
