A freshly painted new door and mirror-tinted sidelight gave a tired entryway a contemporary look.
We wanted to replace our old front door and water-damaged sidelight and saw an opportunity to add some colour and character to the front-door area.
We replaced the old door with a new one from Corinthian Doors.
We couldn't decide whether to paint the new door grey or green, so we did both!
The inside of the door is painted in Dulux Battle Dress and the exterior side of the front door is painted in Dulux Shale Grey. The new front door didn't have glass panels like the old one, so we opted for a full-length sidelight. For privacy we applied a tinted mirror film on the sidelight so that during the day you can't see into the house.

@homeinmelbourne What a fantastic update, it looks great! Well done.
You've got me thinking now; I'm in a situation where my Mum made leadlight prior to her passing, so it's very important to me to display them in my home, and I sat and looked at your green door for a while wondering if the leadlight inserts you had in the old door would look at home in the new green door, or if they would detract from them.
Thanks for the inspiration and well done.
Jason
Hi Jason @BoeingFan,
Thank you so much. That sounds like a wonderful way to pay homage to your Mum's leadlight creation. I'm sure it will look great and be a lovely way to honour her memory in your home.
