Turn a bland wall into an eye-catching feature with this easy artificial plant wall.
We just built an amazing decked alfresco area and the boring brick wall was screaming "help me". I had a creative spark and thought it could be a fun D.I.Y. project to do with my fiancé. We had an old temporary fence sitting in the backyard, along with some Un-REAL artificial tiles and a packet of cable ties. This is all we needed to create the masterpiece.
We went for a 1.5m x 1.5m round circle, so used two of these UN-REAL 100 x 100cm Luxury Artificial Hedge Tile - Boston Fern. The good thing about these panels is they are all interconnected by mesh at the back of the greenery, enabling you to choose the size and click as many as you would like together. The greenery is also detachable, so you can change the sectioning of the leaves. All the individual pieces of greenery are secured quite well, they clip in, and as this piece is out of the weather under our alfresco area, its looks the same as the day we installed it.
Whether it's an attractive feature for your alfresco dining area or used to add colour indoors, an artificial plant wall can offer a low-maintenance touch of greenery around your home. Create your own artificial plant wall with this step-by-step guide.
