This clever kitchen update created a fresh new look and kept costs down by repainting existing cupboards and tiles.
I wanted to do a small renovation on my kitchen. My budget was $8000 maximum, including a dishwasher and new oven and rangehood.
I didn't change the cabinets as the floor tiles go through the rest of the unit and it would have been too expensive to change the whole lot. Instead I painted the cabinets with the Dulux Renovation Range paint in the colour Niche. It was a bit of a mission as I had to paint both sides of the cabinet doors. I found the primer tended to drip on application, so be careful.
I changed the double sink to a single to make room for a small dishwasher, I retiled the splashback and added floating shelves.
I went with a slightly bigger benchtop that makes all the difference – it's laminate as well, but it doesn't look it!
I'm very happy with the results.
