This budget transformation of a dated bathroom cost less than $500.
The project
This was a really inexpensive update that makes the whole bathroom look like new. I bought a new benchtop, two new sinks, new cupboard handles and White Knight Tile & Laminate paint.
The benchtop was $99, I think (it was in the timber section as a workbench). I coated it about five times with clear varnish (food contact safe), sanding between each coat. The sinks I got on special at $89 each, including taps.
I kept the original cabinets and really took my time prepping the fronts, doors and drawers following the White Knight paint instructions. I just replaced the handles with brushed chrome ones.
Then it was some PVC pipe and PVC glue. Total well under $500.
