This budget bathroom renovation included painting the floor, wall tiles and vanity and installing VJ panelling, a new shower screen, shower head and taps.

The project

We were able to makeover our bathroom for $2500. We used the Dulux Renovation Range to paint the floor, wall tiles and vanity.

I had some issues early on as the angled brush I had chosen to cut in had very hard bristles so I recommend using a very soft brush. I also wouldn’t recommend using painter's tape over freshly painted walls as when I peeled it off after painting the floors it peeled some sections off so I had to touch them up. It would be better to be careful and cut in by hand.

It was time consuming and tedious especially removing all the silicone, which was my least favourite part. But the overall process was uncomplicated.

We installed a custom shower screen and new taps and a shower head. We made a feature of the wall above the vanity with VJ panelling and a beautiful mirror.

Looks fantastic @arielsturdy. How are you finding the tile paint is holding up? I am considering doing my bathroom when it is warmer.

Hi @birdie

Painting tiles is a very popular way to renovate and revamp your bathroom look. My number one tip for this project is to clean the tiles very well and choose the best roller you can afford. Using a cheap substandard roller leaves roller lint and does not produce a uniform finish.

Our store bathroom was painted with the Dulux Renovator Range and I'm very impressed as it has not chipped even though it is in a commercial environment.

We look forward to seeing the start of your bathroom painting project.
