This DTA shower wall recess is 100mm deep. Is it possible to cut it and make only 70mm deep as the wall I have only have 70mm wide studs? Thanks
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @pash81. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about adjusting a wall niche.
Yes, it’s definitely possible to adjust the depth of the DTA shower wall recess to fit your 70mm studs. A multitool would be ideal for this type of precise cutting, allowing you to carefully trim down the recess to the required depth. If you don’t have a multitool, a standard handsaw can also work, though it may take a bit more time and effort to get a clean cut.
Be sure to wear the proper PPE for this job, including safety glasses and a face mask, to protect yourself from dust and debris. Once cut to size, double-check the fit before installing to ensure everything aligns smoothly with your wall framing.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
