Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @lady0008. It's great to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about bathroom renovations.
If you ask specific questions, our members will be better placed to offer relevant advice and suggestions. Some images of the bathroom would also be helpful to paint the picture. Let me know if you need a hand uploading photos.
For painting the bathroom ceiling, start by scraping off any loose, peeling paint. Clean the surface thoroughly with Sugar Soap to remove dust and mildew, then apply a primer. After the primer dries, use a mildew-resistant water-based paint that is low-odour. Here's a helpful guide: How to paint a ceiling.
Replacing the sink involves turning off the water supply, disconnecting the plumbing, and removing the old sink. When installing the new sink, follow the manufacturer’s instructions carefully. Disconnecting and re-connecting the plumbing needs to be done by a licensed professional, so it's best to seek their assistance.

Hi @lady0008,
Looking back at your questions and my response, I just wanted to add a note that before you go scrapping the ceiling, especially if it is cement board. There's a risk of asbestos exposure from homes built or renovated before 1990. Before starting any work, determine if asbestos is present by having your home assessed and taking necessary precautions to protect yourself and others. Access resources from the Asbestos Safety and Eradication Agency for guidance on safe practices.
Also, once you've established that asbestos is not present, remember to wear protective equipment, including a face mask and safety glasses.
