leaky cistern - caroma dual flush

howdy chaps

trying to fix a leaky cistern, I have replaced the bottom seal on the outlet valve but the inlet valve doesn’t seem to be stopping so water keeps trickling in the toilet - any idea what replacement part I can get from Bunnings ?

cheers

Re: leaky cistern - caroma dual flush

Hello @PscottDIY

This particular inlet valve often uses a FIX-A-LOO Inlet Valve Headseal Washer. I suggest removing the old seal and bringing it with you to make sure that the replacement valve is the same size and height.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Re: leaky cistern - caroma dual flush

Thanks @EricL however the whole inlet mechanism doesn’t rise when the water fills , it seems stuck , I have to move it up / down manually and it’s quite tight 🤷‍♂️

Re: leaky cistern - caroma dual flush

Hello @PscottDIY

It appears that the inlet valve of your toilet suit has finally succumbed to calcium deposits on its plastic body. When this happens, it becomes impossible for plastic parts to move smoothly on each other. There are side entry inlet valves available at the store such as the Fluidmaster Side Entry Inlet Valve or the Kinetic PVC Side Entry Inlet Valve along with the Fluidmaster Inc. Universal Valve Inlet Install Kit.

I propose carefully removing and unclipping the old inlet valve and bringing it with you to the store for comparison. It's critical that the new inlet valve have the same inlet pipe length to clear the flushing valve body. Once you've determined that they are compatible you can then install the new inlet valve to your toilet cistern.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.
