how to plasterboard over cement sheets

Hi Brains trust

We were going to tile our bathroom walls and have changed our minds. We want to plasterboard over the fibre cement sheeting on the walls, how do we do that. Or is it easy to get a nice finish using plasterboard mud? I can tape and nud plasterboard, but ive never done cement sheeting.

However, it’s worth noting that plasterboard is typically installed directly onto timber or metal studs as per the manufacturer’s guidelines. Installing it over existing fibre cement sheeting would be a deviation from these recommendations and might compromise your warranty if issues arise later.
