Would lime rendering or paint solution be suitable for brick wall?
HellO
We’re after suggestions for an internal laundry solid brick wall that has seen some water exposure due to recent heavy rain. The bricks are very old from a post office, so have historical, value. We would like to ensure that whatever we use to out on the bricks in breathable. Would a lime render be suitable ?

Re: Would lime rendering or paint solution be suitable for brick wall?
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Nicjay. It's brilliant to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about coating a brick wall.
Could you please tell us a little more about the requirement of the coating being breathable and the reason for this? With their historical value, what type of coatings are you ruling out and did the process need to be reversible?
You might like to check out Building Products Supplies 10kg Lime Plaster X-Lime, as it's a breathable lime-based plaster with which you can coat the wall. Be aware that if this is an ongoing moisture issue with the wall, you're likely going to see a discolouration of the lime render due to water ingress.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Mitchell
