Will a Two Way Manifold be okay attached to tap that’s on an angle?

Hi! I want to connect my washing machine and dishwasher water supply hoses to the cold water tap using the Nylex Brass Two Way Manifold. Does the manifold's angle matter when attached to the tap? Please see photo for reference.

Thanks!

Edit: Washing machine water supply hose currently attached in the photo reference, but planning on getting an dishwasher machine to put aside the washing machine in laundry, due to renting.

Hi @jaysixjaye,

Physically, the Nylex Brass Two Way Manifold will likely work when attached to the tap, as it can handle two connections. However, since it’s designed for garden taps, which typically have less stringent construction requirements compared to internal plumbing fittings, I would recommend consulting with a plumber to ensure this setup is the most secure and suitable for your needs, especially considering the higher water pressure or durability requirements in an indoor laundry setting.

The other option is to use the BOSTON 3/4" Washing Machine Y Hose Adaptor.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Re: Will a Two Way Manifold be okay attached to tap that’s on an angle?

I could have possibly been looking at the wrong one, as I had way too many tabs open at the time with different products while trying to figure out how to get the dishwasher connected.. I feel I got mixed up and was suppose to ask about the Pope 2 Way Brass Threaded Tap instead of the Nylex..

Thank you for your recommendation. I’m just about to head into a local Bunnings store now.

I did try measuring my cold water tap before leaving and I’m not feeling confident in terms of size.. What are my options if any of the adaptors available don’t end up fitting onto the cold water tap? And as well as if the washing machine or dishwasher hoses don’t fit onto the adaptor?

Thanks!

Re: Will a Two Way Manifold be okay attached to tap that’s on an angle?

Hello @jaysixjaye

Looking at the photo you posted, it appears that you have a standard washing machine hose attached to it. This tells me that the fitting on that tap is standard 20mm which is the same for garden tap outlet fittings. The Pope 2 Way Brass Threaded Tap is designed to fit onto standard garden tap fittings which is 20mm. We've recommended this splitter before just for that very purpose you've mentioned, and that is to attach both the dishwasher and washing machine inlet hoses at the same time.

The only reason your hoses won't fit is because you have a machine that is foreign made and is not set to Australian standards. My best advice is to make sure to apply plumber's tape on all threaded fittings before attaching the splitter to the tap.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Eric
