Why wall top tap is leaking again after 6 months?

Hi Bunning team,

I have a wall top tap in my laundry. It was dripping from the tap 6 months ago. I called Sydneywater to fix it. I am quite sure what Sydneywater has done to fix it, maybe change the washer or whatever.

After 6 months now, the tap is dripping again. If it is just washer issue, Sydneywater should have fixed it. Anyone know how I can fix this issue in a long term?

Appreciate if anyone can help.

Re: why wall top tap is leaking again after 6 momths

Hello @iloveyou

Thank you for sharing your question about your tapware. I'm sorry to hear that the repair did not last long, it is possible that the jumper valve has been damaged due to constant use. In order to improve your tapware performance, I suggest upgrading your spindle to a ceramic spindle.

It is a ceramic based shut off valve that does not use any rubber in its assembly. It is a soft turn spindle and does not require a great amount of force when turning it off. Due to its ceramic construction, it will provide a long service life.

I suggest speaking to your plumber regarding using ceramic spindles and asking them which one is compatible with your set.

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.

Eric

Thank you so much Eric! I will try to change the jumper valve. It is a good idea to the spindle to a ceramic one.
