I'll start by saying you should take all necessary precautions when working around the glass as there is potential for it to shatter and cause injury. Wear gloves, long work clothes, eye protection and enclosed shoes as well as any other measures to protect yourself in the event of the glass shattering.
Stud finders are designed for use on plasterboard and thin sheet products. You may have some success using them on a tiled wall, but there are no guarantees that they will be able to pick up what is behind the wall.
There are higher-end products that will be able to give you a clearer picture such as the Makita DWD181ZJ- 18V Surface Scanner which can be ordered through your local Bunnings' Special Orders desk or this Klein Tools Rechargeable Thermal Imaging Camera TI250, but they are quite an investment for one small job.
My suggestion, which I have used myself, is to use a Deta Powerful Magnet along the tiles. Tiles on stud walls will have a fibre cement sheet underneath them which is fixed in place with metal clouts. The Deta Magnet should be powerful enough to react to these nails in your wall. As studs run vertically and these fibre cement sheets need to be attached multiple times to each stud, once the magnet reacts, you can run it vertically up and down to find further clouts, confirming the location of a stud.
