What's going on here? This bathroom sink drain piping leaks where the arrow is pointing - as you'd expect since the corner pipe just slots into the next section with nothing to seal it. Seems like I need to replace at least that slighly darker section to the right of the arrow with something else.
FYI the piping is roughly 6cm diameter, apart from that fatter section (with the warning on it that I can't get a decent picture of so I don't know what it says).
Hello @daven25
Have you tried to track down the source of the leak? It could be the rubber O ring from the top fitting, but if it is not, it's possible the leak is coming from the elbow where it meets the grey PVC fitting. Are they glued together properly? I suggest using Protek 125ml Type N Blue Cement Solvent to join the pieces together. My only other thoughts are the elbow fitting could have a hidden crack on its body that you can't see.
If you mix a bit of food dye with water tip it into the sink and you'll be able to see where exactly the leak is coming from.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.
