Faced with an awkward space with a linen cupboard and a vanity stuck in the 2000's, we gutted the space and created a new elegant mudroom with combined laundry bench and sink combo. Using Porters Paint Squid ink and Taubman's Crisp White as our colour palatte, we repurposed an old coffee table as our bench seat by cutting it down the middle and joining it together as our main feature of the room. We then combined VJ Paneling along the seat area and an old dining hutch top to create the storage space above the seat.
Wainscotting panels made out of dressed pine lengths featured along the walls which tied in nicely with our classical yet elegant feel to the room, with the belt rail around the whole room being a thin profile of architrave pine to separate the colours of the room. Now our room not only has ample storage for hats, bags and other items, we can also use it as a laundry and a feature of our home!

What an absolutely stunning transformation you've achieved there! Your results are impeccable. Converting the old hutch was a stroke of genius, and it's really a marvellous addition. I trust you are just over the moon with what you've put together here.
Thanks again for sharing, and I can't wait to see what you tackle next.

Hey @marisamoloney
Well done! Your mudroom looks fantastic. Are the colour of the cabinets dark navy blue or black?
Good Evening @marisamoloney
I was looking at the photo and thinking "Oh yeah that looks nice" and then saw your explanation about the bench you chopped down the center! Beautiful outside the box thinking and also repurposed the old table!
Very nice work.
