1. Measured the space and used Flatpax utility brochure to determine what cupboards sizes would fit
2 bought a new washing machine 8kg as its only 2 of us and lots of compact options out there. We made sure it would fit the space inside the cupboard.
3 we removed the old laundry trough and 2 door utility cupboard and old washing machine
4 plumber and electrician did their part and we fixed the wall after plumber was done.
5. we bought 2 x 900 floor cabinets 1x 450 floor cabinet 2 x 900 wall cabinets and 1 x 45 floor cabinet. kaboodle bench top, laundry sink, sink tap and washing machine taps
6 assembled all the cupboards together minus the doors. we made adjustments to one 900 floor cupboard
we did not install the shelved and cut the bottom shelf leaving room for cupboard feet and enough space for washing machine. Confirming there is enough space for movement of washing machine. You will see in pic the bottom panel this click to legs so we have access to clen filter or be able to take washing machine out if needed
7 placed the floor cabinets in position, used clamps and adjusted legs to make it level, checked to make sure washing machine fits then screwed the cupboard to each other and the wall checking levels at all times. we then placed the washing machine in its position inside the cupboard.
8 we then installed the benchtop cutting the whole for sink before bolting the benchtop. sink was then installed
9 we then installed the wall cabinets as you can see we improvised as we did not have stands at the time to hold the cabinets.
10 the cupboards door installation was the last step
Thank you and sorry can’t remember where I bought the vase have had it for a while but would say Kmart or Bunnings
Shall have a good dig on Bunnings website - have had a look on both Kmart and ikea already - beautiful styling
Can I ask how do you stop your washing machine to stay in the cupboard. We have one a front loader and it keeps moving.
Good Evening @Evejoy
I will tag @SJBH just in case they dont see your question My front loader dosnt particulary move, It depends on how its been set up/is it level and the last part I have found that if I fill it with a heavy blanket or towels it may more a cm or so, I just drag it back to its home afterwards.
Does your washing machine walk on light loads?
Dave
Hi Evejoy we don’t have a problem with it however make sure the washing machine is level use the feet to adjust so it’s level would be my suggestion and I never over load it either
Thanks Dave I have responded to Evejoy and no I don’t have a problem with mine
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Evejoy. It's brilliant to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about this wonderful project.
It's great to see you've already received some helpful replies. You might like to consider placing these anti-skid pads on the bottom of the feet, or laying this anti-skid matting under the washing machine.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
