I recently went to Japan for the first time and absolutely loved their toilets with the built-in seat warmers, bidet, air dryers, etc. We should have them here!
Does anyone import and sell Japanese-style toilets or anything similiar here? I can’t imagine it would be too hard to install one, except you’d need an electrician as well as a plumber as most toilets (including ours) don’t have a power point.
Thanks,
Drew
Hi Drew (@Barker)
Welcome to Workshop.
Hopefully another Workshop user can answer your question about whether anyone sells Japanese-style toilets here in Australia. I will certainly be interested in the response.
Personally, my partner would never give one the green light at home because of their bulk and appearance! The trend for loos these days seems to be to hide them as much as possible, for example concealing the cistern in the wall cavity or under a vanity benchtop. But I do think if a manufacturer created a smaller, attractive unit with some of the Japanese functions for the Australian market they could be successful...

I would love to have one too
I found this website from Google: http://hyundaibidet.com.au/
It looks legit to me.
Still haven't done anything about this, but found a pretty inexpensive option. Anyone got one of these? https://www.bidetsplus.com/brondell-swash-1000-220v-240v.html
This looks to be the same product, just with an Australian tax added - http://www.thebidetshop.com.au/products/Coway-BA-13B-Bidet.html
I wanted a bidet so I went looking on eBay and the range of toilets seat and accessories is amazing. Spend 400 - 600 and you should get all the heating and lighting etc. These mostly come from South Korea although you can find some locally on eBay or BestBidet.com.au.
But I didn't need heating or any of the electric functions so I went for the Bidet Neo 120 which seems to get the best reviews for a non electric model. I found one in Australia and paid $85.
I don't need an electrician and I expect I'll just buy the compression fittings to tap off the water supply to the cistern and DIY so it's off to Bunnings I go...
I'll post back when it's installed.
Thanks for joining in the discussion and sharing your experiences @Kent.

I saw this plugged on Instagram as a solution to the current toilet paper crisis - https://www.bunnings.com.au/d-lucci-smart-bidet-toilet-seat_p0027641
