I was pressing down my sink plug, and now it is stuck down there and won’t come up regardless of how much I press it.
please help.
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @ohas1. It's brilliant to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about sink plugs.
I'd start by spraying some WD-40 around the perimeter of the plug, in between it and the sink waste body. This might be enough to help free it up and release it. Also, try turning the plug section anti-clockwise, as although it won't pop up, you might be able to unscrew it as if it were popped up. This could give you access to the plug seals, which might need replacing and be the cause of the issue. The other issue could be the internal spring has broken, requiring a replacement waste.
Failing to get it to release, you'd be looking at replacing the waste, which will require its removal from the sink and pipework beneath. If you take the waste into your local Bunnings store, a helpful team member can assist in matching it up to the correct pop-up basin waste.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
