How to switch to a handheld shower in a rental property?

If the rented property has a rain shower how do I change it into a handheld shower? I will like to change it back to is original rain shower when I move out.

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's wonderful to have you join us, and thank you for sharing your question about your showerhead.

I suggest first choosing which showerhead with a hose you want to put on. The fitting in the wall is standard so it's safe to choose anything from the store. I suggest using Estilo WELS 3 Star 9L/min 3 Function Hand Shower. It's an excellent shower head that has multi-function settings. The best part is that all you need to do is to unscrew the old showerhead and put on some Thread Seal Tape on the threaded brass pipe and screw the new shower fitting on.
