Hi all,
I'm planning to use self stick vinyl tiles over concrete floor. I want to ensure the tiles stick and last.
Is there a recommended glue I can use on the concrete?
This is the tile I plan to use - https://www.bunnings.com.au/winton-305-x-305mm-grey-blue-slate-self-stick-vinyl-tile_p6600006
Thank you,
Wally
Hi @weekendwally,
To ensure your self-stick vinyl tiles adhere properly to a concrete floor, the most important factors are surface preparation and cleanliness. The concrete must be smooth and level to maximise the adhesive bond. If the surface is rough or uneven, it’s a good idea to use a self-levelling compound to fill in cracks, holes, or bumps. This will provide a flat, even base for the tiles, ensuring they make optimal contact with the adhesive.
Additionally, it's important that the concrete is free from any moisture, oils, grease, paint, or other contaminants. Be sure to clean the floor thoroughly with a degreaser or cleaner if necessary. According to the manufacturer's instructions, the concrete should also be dry for at least three months to ensure proper adhesion. Following these steps will help ensure your self-stick vinyl tiles stay securely in place and last longer
