How to replace the basin waste?

https://www.bunnings.com.au/cibo-600mm-coast-veneer-tonic-full-height-vanity_p0138269?store=8076&gad...

We want to change the color of the waste into black, but the diameter of the hole is 46mm

And we can only find pop down waste for 32 or 40mm waste hole

The staff told us he reckoned it will fit. 😅

Re: Sizes of Basin Waste

Hello @ivanptr

If you are looking for a black pop-up waste, I suggest having a look at the Kinetic 40mm Matte Black Pop-Up Basin Waste. One of the reasons that the hole in the vanity basin is 45mm is to allow the plug and waste to fit without any issues. Since it is 5mm bigger than the body of the basin waste it would theoretically have a clearance space of 2.5mm on either side.

If the pop-up waste is centred properly, you won't even notice the gap. However, I suggest using clear silicone to seal the top edge of the plug and waste to make sure that it does not leak. Sometimes the angle of the leading edge of the basin hole is too steep and does not line up with the rubber seal of the the plug and waste.

In regards to the universal pop-up waste, I'm sorry but I am unfamiliar with that product.

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.

Eric
