How to replace soap dish on shower rail?

How do I get this type of rail off to remove broken soap dish and put on a new one

Is it possible to get some more photos?

The one you've uploaded is quite small and I can't make out the details.

It looks like the rail might slip up and out of the mount you've taken a photo of. Is there another mount at the top that might be openable in the same way?

Is the shower rail a consistent thickness all the way along?

It may telescope somewhere along the rail. There might be a point that if you rotate you can shorten the rail.

A wider photo showing more of the rail might also help if you have one.

Thank you, I've persevered and got the soap dish on.   The shower rail doesn't appear to be able to come off.   Ruth
