How to replace a square floor tile of size 295mm?

I need to fix a broken tile in my laundry room, I've measured it and found it's 295mm square, the closest tile size I can find on Bunnings website is 300mm, I wonder is it a very old standard that's no longer in use, or is it easy to get the 300mm tile and cut it?

Thanks!

Re: How to replace a square floor tile of size 295mm?

Hi @heuristic

Thanks for sharing your question about repairing your floor tile. There's every possibility that the tile could have been part of a special batch with an unusual size.

The tiles sizes today have been all been standardized and you'll be hard pressed to find something similar in that size. I suggest trimming the 300mm tile to suite your needs.

If you have a grinding tool, please make sure to use personal protection such as gloves, goggles and a dust mask when cutting the tile.

In order to achieve that factory edge finish on the tile, I suggest using the QEP Dual Grit Rubbing Stone.

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.
