How to replace a shower screen?

I'd like to replace our current framed shower enclosure with a frameless one. The shower is tiled but the tiled base is sunken - you step down into the shower. My question relates to sizing: the inside measurement of the shower base is 910 x 875mm. The current shower enclosure measures 950 x 888 on the outside. Is there any way I could get an off-the-shelf shower screen to fit?20241029_155024.jpg20241030_103456.jpg20241030_103523.jpg

Re: How to replace a shower screen

Hello @Steph_B

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about replacing your shower screen.

I'm sorry but most of the frameless and semi-frameless showers are sized at around 900mm, which means that your sunken shower base is too big. For example, the 875mmm small side could be covered by the Mondella 10 x 2000 x 875mm Glass Frameless Shower Panel. However, the door side which is the Mondella 865mm Frameless Shower Panel Door Kit is too small and will not fit the 910mm side.

One possible solution is to ask your installer to modify the sunken portion by making it smaller. This will allow you to install the frameless shower kits at the store, this includes the semi-frameless sets will work should your installer manage to make the shower base smaller. I propose bringing your installer to one of the larger stores in your area with a shower display. This will give them a better idea of what you are after.

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.

Eric
