How to replace a shower head rail?

How to replace a shower head rail?

I’d like to replace this shower rail as the shower head holder broken some time ago and now our cheap interim replacement is drooping too.

Can this be easily remove and replaced without damaging tile?

Can you recommend a replacement shower rail? The existing is 710mm.

Re: How to replace a shower head rail?

Hello @suzannehall

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about changing your shower rail.

It's probable that your shower rail posts are fixed in place with grub screws. I suggest trying to locate them and use an Allen key to remove the screws. Once the screws are removed you should be able to unhook the posts. I suggest measuring the distance of the screw holes on the tile wall. Take the measurements with you along with the old shower rail so that you can be sure that you are getting the right length with the right post distances.

Once you have double checked that you have the right length and distance, you can then be confident in purchasing the replacement unit. Please don't forget to apply plumber's tape on all threaded surfaces.

Please remember to wear personal protection such as gloves and goggles when working on your project.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Eric
