is it possible to repair cracks in bathroom floor tiles? If do, advice on how to do so would be appreciated. Thank you!
Hi @mmcg,
Thank you for your question and welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.
Tile repairs can be a bit tricky because you need to colour-match them as closely as possible to hide any filler that is used.
You can use this PC-11 56g White Epoxy Paste to fill the crack, then give it a light sand with 240 Grit Sandpaper to smooth out the epoxy paste. You'll then need to paint it with a colour that is as close as possible to make it imperceptible to the eye.
Being unable to take a paint chip in-store to colour match can make this tricky. If you had a spare tile you could bring with you, this would be handy.
My suggestion is to head to the paint section at your local Bunnings store and grab a variety of their colour cards, you can then take them home and compare them with the tile to find the best match. Once you've found your colour, you can get the helpful team at the Paint Desk to mix up a sample pot for you.
You can then use a very fine paintbrush such as this Boyle Size 2 Taklon Craft Round Brush to paint the epoxy.
You can also have a look at How to fix a tile without replacing it for some further discussion and advice about similar issues.
Let me know what you think and if you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
