Sorry I have no photos as house is at another location. The shower base had originally small tiles on it, and then it was painted over perhaps 30 odd years ago to suit a different colour scheme. The base is now lifting a little in certain areas and was wondering if it could be repainted over again? If so what could I use to make it look nice once again?
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Handymandy. It's sensational to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about repairing tiles.
You can paint tiles in a shower recess with the Dulux Renovation range for floors. Here's a helpful guide: Revive your shower base. However, given the tiles were painted 30 years ago, the advice would be to remove the current paint entirely and start again. Unfortunately, painting over a deteriorated surface would not be advisable as it's unknown if the current paint will continue to delaminate and compromise the new coating. Obviously, depending on how well the old paint is still adhered, removing it could be a tedious task. I'd recommend you try some paint stripper and test a section to see how easily it comes off. Remember to ventilate the area well and wear appropriate PPE, including safety glass, rubber gloves, a long-sleeved shirt and trousers and enclosed footwear.
