Hey legends! I’m a young, amateur trying to DIY to save $$! We need to renovate our European laundry to fit our new dryer on top of the washing machine! I’m pretty sure the shelf can be taken out as it has screws in it but how can we renovate this on a budget and keep it looking aesthetic pleasing? We have an extractor fan in the ceiling too so that’s no issue, but thinking about how I could make some bench space? Also hate how the doors open like this because the hallway is only tiny!
Hi @SarahK1996,
Thank you for the follow-up question.
Doors are usually standard sizes with small adjustments made on site to fit the opening.
It's very likely that these doors are hollow core internal doors like these Hume Doors Internal Door Primed MDF Flush H1 which come in a variety of sizes for a variety of openings. I suspect your doors will be around 2040 x 520 x 35mm.
If you can tell me the measurements of the opening, I'd be happy to recommend a specific pair of doors that can be used in your circumstances.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Jacob
Thanks so much Jacob!
You are a wizard - in fact, my doors are 2040 H x 620 W x 35 D!
The opening is 1250mm!
That would be awesome
Hi @SarahK1996,
These 2040 x 620 x 35mm Internal Doors will work perfectly. There are also doors with profiles such as the 2040 x 620 x 35mm HAG6 or the 2040 x 620 x 35mm Rockport.
Those dimensions sound like the frame was made specifically to fit these doors without any adjustments.
This will give you a 3mm gap on the hinge side of each door with a 4mm gap in the middle, which is pretty much ideal.
Let me know what you think.
Jacob
Amazing! Love the first and second ones you sent.
So how would we install those to have the folding effect that was in @EricL 's designs? It is going to be great for our small hallway having that instead of normal opening doors!
Hi @SarahK1996,
My apologies, I missed that detail in Eric's earlier response.
It is still possible, but you will have to order custom doors.
Have a look at Hume Doors multifold door systems. You'd be looking at a Multifold Type B door.
If you'd like to order these doors, using the bottom right table, you'll need to order Multifold Type B doors with a leaf width of 308mm.
The leaf height is relative to the opening, so you'll have to measure the height of the opening (not the doors) and minus 60mm.
If you'd like to order these doors, head in store to the Special Orders Desk and they'll be able to assist you with a quote and ordering.
Let me know what you think.
Jacob
That is all good!
Okay that makes sense! Thankyou so much! I will let you know how I go
Thanks again!!
