How to patch wall paint?

I recently had my bathroom painted by an experienced painter. I was hooking up a hair dryer holder, and the holder came off (as the back sticker is not strong). It peeled off the new paint, exposing the old paint behind. How do I fix the paint job? Thank you.

A warm welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community and thank you for your question.

Start by giving the sharp edges where the paint has peeled away a scrape with a paint scraper until you've removed any poorly adhered paint that is lifting off the surface beneath. 

Once you've removed the poorly adhered paint, sand the edges sand with a sanding sponge to remove any sharp lines that will show through the new paint.

When the sharp edges have been smoothed, apply a coat of Dulux 1Step Prep Primer, Sealer & Undercoat to the bare area.

Wait for it to dry, then apply a coat of your paint. If you don't have any leftover paint from when it was painted before, take a paint chip around the size of 50 cent coin in-store and the team at the Paint Desk can colour-match it for you.

@Chin   Sorry about your  paint.

Can I suggest you simply glue the holder back onto the wall with some builders liquid nails you can or a  strong glue .

I say this as it will cover the paint damage ( raise the  holder up a bit to cover most of the visable damage.) and at the same time the glue will bond hopfully to a stronger  under paint  layer and the paint damage  is  covered all in one go.

If  there is most likly  still some  peeled of paint damage simply  follow  @JacobZ   advice and I hope the painter lefl the old  paint tins  behind you  can use  for the minor  paint cover up.

If  not  you  can  buy  bunnings sample  paint pots to do a  minor   paint touch up with out huge  expense.

I suspect  if you start  scraping the wall a whole  lot more  paint  will peel Skip to  @JacobZ  step  2 sanding block.

Take  care   hope this is easy  fix with out having to repaint too much.

As a further consideration a wall fitting  can  be knocked from time to time generally a screw or two through the  fitting into the  wall will help support it especially if it hits a wall stud.
