Hello, I would like to know what is a good product to patch the hole around the piping (water + drain pipe) in the picture attached?
The hole is about 6.5x6.5cm around the pipes for both water and drain pipe.
Thank you
Hi @victor2605,
It appears that filling in those holes around the sink piping could be tricky, especially since the cuts are uneven or too large to patch easily.
Instead of trying to fill the hole directly, you could install a CUSTOMwood 3 x 900 x 600mm White Backing Board MDF as a backing plate that will cover the area neatly. To make it fit around the pipes, simply cut the plate into a rectangular shape, then cut a couple of slots in the bottom edge with a jigsaw so it can slip over the pipes and behind the taps. This will hold the plate securely against the rear wall of the cabinet. I've created a rendering below to illustrate.
It should blend well with the cabinetry and create a clean look that conceals the holes. This method is quick, easy, and offers a nice finish that’s easier to achieve than filling in the hole, especially since it gives you flexibility for future adjustments.
You could also use a construction adhesive or screws to attach the MDF to the cabinet wall, making it a more permanent fixture.
This approach should provide a stable solution that makes the cabinet look neat while solving the issue of unsightly pipe holes.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you Mitchell for that suggestion.
I am actually looking to patch the holes in the wall behind the tile as well before I patch the hole in the cabinetry. What do you recommend for the masonry wall behind the wall tile. Would tile grout work in this case?
Hi @victor2605,
You can use Concremate Expanding Cement to fill these holes. This is a non-shrinking, concrete patching compound that is perfect for this application.
Let me know if you have any further questions.

Thanks, Jacob. Would a expanding foam filler like Sika 500ml Boom Expanding Foam Filler work in this case? Reason I ask is it iseems to be less of a hassle to apply it.
Hi @victor2605,
Yes, an expanding foam such as Sika 500ml Boom Expanding Foam Filler will work, but if any moisture escapes from the tap, it will not hold up as well as the Concremate.
Start by applying it sparingly as it will expand more than you would expect.
You can use a Craftright Snap Off Knife to cut off any excess. Remember to wear gloves to prevent any lacerations.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
