How to order new Kaboodle cabinets and raw doors for laundry?

Hello,

thumbnail_IMG_8675.jpg

We're installing a new laundry and we're using Kaboodle cabinets and alpine profile doors raw, so I will paint them myself. The layout which can't be changed, has multiple 'ends'.

If you please see the amazing drawing (!)  will I need to buy end panels where the orange lines are? Some of the gaps won't be that big.

For the one with the tall utility broom cupboard  https://www.bunnings.com.au/kaboodle-600mm-tall-pantry-cabinet_p0464942?region_id=117021&gad_source=...

which size would I get as there'll be base cabinets on the bottom. if I may also check with you that all these shelves are adjustable so I can put brooms, mops etc. in?

Thank you very much! There's a 2 month wait for these doors and panels so I need to order it all correctly in the one go!

Re: How to order new Kaboodle cabinets and raw doors for laundry?

Hello @annaluno

Thanks for sharing your question about your laundry cabinets.

Please note that every end panel is 18mm thick and will add to the overall measurement of your kitchen. For example, if you were using a 600mm base cabinet plus the end panel you'll need to count it as 618mm with the panel attached.

From your drawing I see that you've allowed a 5mm gap. Generally, I would suggest a gap of 20mm to account for the machine shaking. Otherwise, the washer must must be balanced perfectly to keep it as still as possible when in operation.

Keep in mind that the cabinetry itself is melamine covered and only comes in white. Your plan perfectly covers all the exposed ends.

You'll therefore need the following panels:

I've drawn up a sample sketch of your laundry, please note that it is not to scale or size as you have not given your cabinet sizes. Its purpose is to give you an idea of your panel placement and how the tall pantry panel will need to be cut down if you decide to install it in the way that you've drawn it.

I also recommend bringing your drawing to the in-store kitchen specialist. They'll have a good look at your plans, and they will confirm the number of panels you'll be needing.

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.

Eric

Re: How to order new Kaboodle cabinets and raw doors for laundry?

Thanks Eric that's wonderful.

I was thinking getting a pantry end panel is a waste because half is covered up by the bottom cupboards but I realised it will keep the top and bottom cupboards the same length and in line with each other. Thanks very much for your help!
