Hi team,
We've got a new laundry sink. It's an overmount but comes with the fittings to undermount it.
Is it correct that for an overmount sink all you need to do is silicone the underside where it rests on the countertop and that's it?
I would have thought some fixings were required at least.
Hi @dchur,
Were there instructions included in the kit? At a minimum, it would be silicone under the sink lip for an overmount installation. However, some sinks might still include brackets underneath to pull the sink down against the benchtop. It's a bit hard to know without more details on the sink. Could you post a picture of all the included parts?
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Mitchell
Thanks Mitchell. See below
I'm pretty sure these are for in the sink is to be undermounted which it says it can be.
Is there any reference in the manual, or could these fittings also be used in an overmount installation @dchur?
Mitchell
There wasn't actually a manual that came with it which was a bit odd I thought.
I can't really see how they'd be used in an overmount situation. for reference the sink is this one.
I may just reach out to them and ask
Hi @dchur,
I suspect that only silicone is used to bed the unit when mounting from above. That's a fairly common installation technique, and brackets are not always used.
It's always a good idea to consult the retailer for further information.

Thanks champion, appreciate your advice as always.
Cheers.
Just to wrap this thread up, silicone worked a treat and it's seated very nicely! not going anywhere
