How to insulate Rheem hot water cylinder?

Hi. I have a 250ltr Rheem Mains Presser Electric Hot Water cylinder that I wish to cover with suitable insulation. The cylinder is positioned under the house. Can you advise, thanks.

Re: How to insulate Rheem hot water cylinder?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Michael8. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about insulating blankets.

I've spoken to Rheem Australia, and no products are available to order that would suit your purpose. Unfortunately, they don't have any recommendations on suitable insulation you could use.

Typically, electric hot water units have a substantial amount of insulation within them. Are you trying to combat a particular issue or just make the unit more efficient? Another area to take a look at is your pipe and whether they have insulation. Normally, you'd lose far more heat through the pipes than the actual heater.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks Mitchell. I’ll insulate the pipes and see if that helps.
