Hi, the cistern tap on the toilet was leaking so it was replaced, but it’s still leaking. Thread tape was used on the joint and it’s as tight as it can be. Any idea what may have been missed? Maybe it needs to be done again. Thanks for your help!
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @whatahoot. It's brilliant to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about installing a cistern tap.
I suspect the only reason why the thread of the tap would be leaking at the wall is that there is an insufficient thread tap. Typically, up to eight rotations would be necesary. However, since installation requires a licensed plumber as this is considered plumbing work, I'd recommend you seek assistance.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Mitchell
Thanks so much for your reply @MitchellMc
I did have my plumber friend do the work but I can’t get a hold of him to ask why the leak!
I thought I could fix it up myself but will wait for him to come back.
Really appreciate your help though
