Hello! One of the cleaners that we hired seems to have scratched the bottom of the toilet bowl (using a metal tool) while cleaning. See photo below:
Is this still fixable? I was looking at porcelain repair kits but I'm not sure which one to use. Thanks!
Hello @jr_phqc
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's great to have you join us and thank you for sharing your question about how to clean a scratched toilet bowl.
First, we need to determine if the damage is deep and has gouged into the porcelain finish. If it has, there's no way to repair it. You'll have to replace the bowl.
However, if it is a surface mark, you'll need to remove the toilet water with a large sponge so you can clean the metal marks. Once all the water is removed you'll need less than half a spoon of baking soda and a lemon. Tip the baking soda in the bowl and squeeze the lemon juice on top and scrub it with a Scotch-Brite 155 x 100mm Heavy Duty Scourer Pad - 6 Pack. Make sure to keep adding lemon juice as you scrub the porcelain. Do not overly scratch the surface or it will damage the porcelain finish. Your goal is to remove the metal marks left by the cleaner's tool.
Please keep us updated with your progress, we look forward to seeing the metal marks cleaned off your toilet bowl.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.
