How to fix or replace cracked bathroom vanity sink?

Hi, thanks for your help in advance. As you can see, both of our bath room vanities cracked. These cracks have been there for many months and don't affect our daily usage. The crack in the bigger square one initially was bit sharp so I filled it using epoxy filling to make it flush. A couple of questions here:

  • Can they be properly fixed?
  • How would the outcome look?

If the recommendation is to replace them

  • What is the process?
  • If I find the process too complicated, what kind of tradie I should get?
  • Most importantly, could you help me find the replacement? I know they were sourced from bunnings long time back but I cannot find them anymore on your site. I am giving the dimentions here FYI:
    • For the big square one, the underneath base (partical board) dimention is 119.5cm * 44cm, the top vanity dimention is 121cm * 45cm
    • For the small one with curve, the underneath base is 70.5cm * 35cm, the top vanity square area is 74cm * 39cm (the depth with curve Big Square VanityBig Square VanityCrack in Big Square VanityCrack in Big Square VanitySmall Vanity with CurveSmall Vanity with CurveCrack in Small VanityCrack in Small Vanityis 49cm)

Re: Need help to find replacement if not fixable

Hi @fan8956,

It looks like the cracking in the vanity bowls is quite extensive, and unfortunately, it would be difficult to fix them in a way that ensures durability. You could potentially fill the cracks with white epoxy to prevent further leakage, but this is only a temporary solution and may not restore the look or integrity of the vanities.

Given the extent of the damage, replacing the vanity bowls would likely be the best option. Finding a matching replacement for a discontinued model could be a challenge, especially without knowing the manufacturer. I recommend taking your measurements to your local Bunnings store's Special Orders desk, where a team member can help check if any current vanity tops match your specifications. However, it’s likely that you might need to replace the entire vanities rather than just the bowls.

If you need professional assistance, services like Hipages or Airtasker could connect you with a tradie who can help with the replacement. Depending on the complexity, you might need a plumber to install the new vanities.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Mitchell
