Hi all,
I have a 2018 Caroma Stylus dual flush toilet. The cistern has been leaking every since I moved in and I tried replacing the outlet valve seal with a bunch of Fix a Loo ones but none of them were the right size.
I recently bought silicone and cut it to the original seal size but it's still leaking after ensuring its the same size and its sitting flat and tight. Is there anywhere else I should looking to do a fix?
Not sure if I should cut the hole bigger in the middle of the seal to allow it a bit more room?
I've done a test to check it's not the inlet leaking as the leak still happens if the tank is full but the inlet water supply is off.
Really appreciate the help as the toilet constantly filling in the middle of the night is affecting my sleep
This is the original seal - it had bubbled when I took it out
Hello @havenie
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your Caroma Stylus cistern.
I propose doing a quick test first, turn the cistern tap off and listen to the toilet if it is leaking water back into the pan. This might take a while so be patient and keep listening. If there is no sound of leaking or overflowing, it's probable that the cistern inlet valve is malfunctioning. I propose replacing the inlet washer of the inlet valve and testing the unit again. Since you've replaced the flushing valve washer multiple times, I suspect the source of the leak is coming from another part of your cistern and that is the inlet valve.
Test it again with the new valves in place and let us know if it stops the leaking noise.
If you need further assistance, please let me know.

Hi @EricL
I assume you mean to check if it’s still leaking after turning off the cistern water supply?
Because it’s definitely leaking, the tank is around 1/2 full so as long as there’s water in the tank, it will continue trickling down…
Hi @havenie
Thanks for confirming that, I was just eliminating a probable cause. Since you've done a lot of testing with the flushing valve seals, I can only conclude that the seating ring for the flush valve is damaged somehow. If it is, no amount of washer replacement will fix it. I suggest replacing the entire flushing valve with a Kinetic Round And Oval Button Dual Flush Outlet Valve Kit. You also have the option of ordering a Caroma Stylus flushing valve kit. It will need to be ordered from the special orders desk of your store.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.
