How to fix cabinet peeling from water damage?

How can this cabinet trim be repaired which has started to peel away from the chipboard?

The problem area is right next to the bathtub so I'm guessing it's years of water exposure now causing the split/peel. I've reported it but the landlord isn't interested in fixing, however I want it sorted due to my toddler now wanting to pick at it.

I'm ok with a quick and easy DIY fix for short term. My first guess was to glue it or stick down with tape but thought I'd ask first on a better approach.

Re: How to fix cabinet peeling from water damage?

Hello @chickensoup64

I suggest using Selleys 500mL Aquadhere PVA Wood Glue Exterior Adhesive. I recommend getting something to push on it while the glue is curing. Once the glue cures that trim should stay in place.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Hi @chickensoup64

I just  use a bit of tape to hold it down for 24 hours.

@EricL  Aquadhere will do a  great job.
