How to fix a leaking washing machine connection?

Hi, I've just moved into a new place and trying to connect my washing machine up to the tap but it keeps leaking from the connection circled in the picture. I've tightened it as much as I can and the washer inside the hose seems fine. Please help! Thanks

Re: Washing machine connection leak

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @janes. It's great to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about a leaking water connection.

If the water leaks at the red arrow, you might like to add more sealant tape to the tap threads. If the water leaks at the orange arrow where you've circled, it indicates the internal washer might not be sealing correctly. You could try replacing that washer. If you take the internal washer to your nearest Bunnings store, so helpful plumbing team member can help you match it up to the correct one. If the internal washer is fine, the plastic fitting might have developed a slight hairline crack and the hose would need to be replaced.

These types of washing machine hoses tend to suffer from this type of leak. You can see in this discussion that @emily94 had a similar issue: Washing machine water inlet connection leaking from underneath?

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Mitchell
